Trish Mensah has been attending BOPF meetings since retirement in 2014 from Bristol City Council as a social worker. Trish became a trustee in 2018 and is currently Deputy Chair.
Over the years, Trish has been a foster carer, a school governor, in a number of women’s groups and on lots of campaigns as well as, on the board of BAND (Bristol Afterschool Neighbourhood Daycare) and an active member of Anti-Apartheid (later Action for Southern Africa), as well as more recently being active in the EMWG Eastville Memorial Workhouse Group. Trish is also an active member in the BRHG Bristol Radical History Group, the National Pensioners Convention, Unison Retired Members and enjoys Zumba Gold twice a week to help keep fit and socialize as well as badminton. Trish is currently interviewing some older people to write pamphlets about Activist’s Memories. This is a combined BRHG and BOPF project.
Trish likes to be busy so also enjoys travel, the cinema and theatre as well as attending courses or workshops and playing board games.
Trish is on HAG which is a BOPF Housing Group, the funding committee and Scrutinises at Bristol City Council representing older people.
