Pat Foster

Pat has worked for many years with children and families, through the Pre-school Learning Alliance, National Playbus, managed Bristol’s Family Learning team and worked on the Extended Schools programme. Pat has been a trainer and has taught a variety of courses through Community Education and has been involved with community development in various ways including working nationally on the Compact for Communities. Pat has been a trustee of Bristol Playbus and the Play and Early Years Training Unit and nationally with Play England.

More recently Pat has worked with the Care Forum managing Healthwatch across five counties. Since leaving paid employment Pat is still involved with health through volunteering with her local Patient Participation Group and attends the Bristol Patient Participation Group Forum and National Health England Patient Participation Energisers Group. Pat continues to volunteer working with parents and children at a local ‘food programme’ with funds through the Marcus Rashford Foundation to ensure children have meals through the school holidays.

Now in retirement taking on a trustee role with Bristol Older People’s Forum is a natural progression to begin to challenge the rights of older people. Pat enjoys being with friends, music festivals, painting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
