Shelley Lanchbury

Shelley has returned to live in Bristol from Manchester. Shelley was brought up in Hartcliffe before moving away, she returned and worked at Radio Bristol, and HTV, then following doing her degree in Social Policy and Politics at Bristol University she became an Avon County and then Bristol City Councillor, and worked at the Centre for Deaf Studies. Moving away again she worked in Local Government in London, before moving to Manchester where she has been a City Councillor for 12 years, before retiring and moving back to Bristol. During this time she has been a school governor and sat on a variety of different voluntary sector organisation’s boards and committees.

In her spare time, she swims regularly and plays clarinet in two local wind bands. By being a part of Bristol Older Peoples Forum she wants to continue providing a strong, sometimes critical but always positive voice for older people in the city.
